About Me

Hmmmmm. About me. I'm fun, spontaneous, love, love, and LOVE meeting new people. I love people, period! Even those deemed assholes intrigue me. You know who are. I have two teen sons who I love and have a good/healthy relationship with. Hubby and I have been together for a little over 20 years and he is still my best friend. I love kids, and am a super passionate advocate for children's rights and equality. I love to cook and always feed our guests - I can't imagine not doing that. I'm funny, animated, and love to laugh. I enjoy good conversation and listening and hearing about people's lives, and their journeys, and hopefully being a small part of that journey. If you asked my friends about me, they would, without a doubt, right off the bat, share about how non-judgmental I am and how I accept all. If you're looking for a place to feel relaxed and where you can be yourself, this is the place, instantly.

We have a dog (9), and decrepit, old, annoying cat that we have had for almost 16 years now. We are pet friendly, family/kid friendly, single friendly, couple friendly, etc., etc. We don't have a big place, but we do have a spare couch, a queen and twin mattress, for guests. We make it work and adapt to what we have.

We aren't shy, so if you can't handle staying in close quarters, going to the fridge to make yourself a snack, putting your laundry in our washer, bathing when you want without asking and other normal typical human behavior, then our home won't be for you.

I understand that if someone can't give a few days notice, I don't mind...I get it. No issues with light to moderate drinking. Can't smoke anything in my home but we have a place to go for that. If you use meth or any other "hard" substances, we can't have you...I have children and refuse to expose them to that intentionally.

All ages, sex, race, sexual orientations and religions accepted. I'm not looking to convert to any religion, so keep that in mind. Yawn.

We recently moved to Coeur D Alene, Idaho.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Surfing for a couple of reasons. First, I have never done it. Hubby and I have been naturally, organically, and unofficially opening our home for 20 years now to travelers. It's just in our nature - without one negative experience. We have met some incredible people during this time. I have been doing some unexpected traveling this past year, and every time I do it, I've been wondering if there are people out there like me who just like to meet people. I just knew there had to people who were like us, who at the same time didn't want to waste so much money on hotels. It's a bummer to stay anywhere and not have a local contact to show you everything the community and area has to offer. In sharing my thoughts and feelings with a friend, I was told about this website, was instantly ecstatic, and couldn't wait to join! I'm very excited to think of traveling somewhere and meeting new people! Couch surfing to me is a no brainer! In a world so money hungry and greedy, I love the idea of helping and sharing to possibly better someone's life and experience...to make something easier in someone's life - to help make possible what might not be, if it weren't for people like us. I love the idea of people just helping people and it's what I know.

Interests

How about what I'm not interested in first. I don't like to hike, ski, or even exercise for that matter. My pic should show that. That's just my life currently. Take it or leave it. I can sure show you where to hike, ski, or have an exhausting day of beautiful nature, though. I love to garden, watch a good TV series, and am obsessed with documentaries. I love to cook, and to try out new recipes, and of course cook a new item that I never have, for any social gathering. I'm super passionate about children's rights and youth at risk. I'm just interested in life. I like being alive. I can totally wait to die. Wish I did love the whole outdoor exercise thing, but I don't, for now. Those who do, are rock stars in my eyes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost all music, EXCEPT country! I've tried and tried and it just won't happen. I don't mind really old country, though. Real country. I don't read much anymore, and when I do I prefer non-fiction -especially biographies. The last book I read was "DEAD MOUNTAIN: THE UNTOLD TRUE STORY of the DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT". Not a huge movie fan these days, for some reason. I do love foreign films, though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What a question huh? Too much, for me personally. How about I guessed the EXACT number of jellybeans in a baby bottle at a baby shower! It was three hundred and something! Not bad, huh?

Teach, Learn, Share

Whatever on the "teaching". Just be, do, and give people what they deserve - respect and understanding. All any of us want is acceptance. To know people can love us and will accept us. No matter who we spend time with or when, it's important that they feel respected and I give that. Life and time is short. Be yourself and make an impact. Be the difference.

* I'm all about learning to cook, so I don't care if someone is vegetarian, vegan or a big meat eater. I cook it all and respect dietary needs.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lot: me, cooking, respect, care, interest, compassion, awareness, empathy and humor. Is that cheesy? Oh well. Bottom line- I'm easy to get along with. I go with the flow.

I'm ALWAYS looking to swap recipes and learn more cooking skills/recipes from others!! If you have no cooking skills, who cares. Enjoy what I create for you.

* I and our family, don't ever travel without being able to take care of ourselves.

Countries I’ve Visited
