About Me

I live an adventurous and varied life...from being a business owner to ranching cows and ostrich to being a hospice volunteer coordinator. I've lived in several regions of the US... from California to South Carolina to Iowa and several states in the North West. I've schooled in Costa Rica, had surgery in Panama (long story), and currently, I am serving in Guyana, South America as a Peace Corps Volunteer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting new people and going new places and this seems like a great format to support those interests. Also, it's not always easy finding someone to tag along with you on trips, AND it's nice to know someone on the other end of your destination when you're traveling solo! I don't like being a total stranger when traveling. It's nice to see a friendly face at the other end of the journey and get tips about great places to see and things to do and people to meet...and maybe get a great tour guide, and a new friend in the bargain...and be one!

Interests

Reading, writing, horses, intriguing conversations about social issues, spirituality and way-out there stuff, laughing and having fun, playing games, traveling, and engraving on eggshells. I enjoy going out to eat, dancing, and listening to music!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make beads and beautiful jewelry with them!
I can also teach you how to make a pointer broom from palm fronds. That's what they use to sweep with here in Guyana and they work way better than the brooms we use in the US!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hospitality, good conversation and sharing about my Peace Corps experiences, good laughs, and friendship.
