ABOUT ME

Independent, spontaneous, genuine, sarcastic, funny, active, thoughtful, passionate.
I am almost always happy and outgoing and usually try to find the 'good' in people and circumstances. I have a sarcastic sense of humor and sometimes I think I'm funnier than I actually am. I'm a fairly simple person, with complex moments. I’m fairly quiet until I get to know you a little more.., which doesn't usually take more than a minute. I prefer being busy most of the time, but have my moments of lethargy. I have known my entire life that this is what I would be doing (traveling, photography) and I am inspired that service work is part of it and extremely excited that NOW is the time.

I was born and raised in Utah, have lived in many of the states and eventually settled in AZ for my family. I've never been a fan of the desert, but I like the city I live in. I have spent 25 years with a man whom I love very much raising 3 wonderful, awesome, beautiful children and enjoying the 5 G-Babies who are my world. (I don’t really pay attention to the number in ages, so I still find it difficult to believe I have grandchildren.) My family and friends are very supportive of everything I do, which makes it that much more enjoyable.

I love my job and the work I do... I get an odd satisfaction in helping businesses lower their costs and streamline business practices! It's amazing how difficult people make things for themselves and the money they throw away.

PHILOSOPHY

I have traveled a lot of places, accomplished a lot of things and met a lot of people. I haven't traveled everywhere I want, accomplished everything I intend to, nor met everyone I would like to. I have walked away when I should have stayed and stayed when I should have run. I think things happen for a reason and I rely on God to guide me through! I love my family more than life and I cherish my friendships. I look forward to everything I want to accomplish in my life and ~ because I procrastinate ~ I hope that I can accomplish half of it!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Recently joined CS and looking forward to being a part of the traveling end of it in March 2012. Welcoming others on my 'couch' or for a 'cup of coffee' until then though!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experiences on CS yet, but having worked with an exchange program for many years... I have either hosted or 'overnighted' students from all over the world. I'm looking forward to ALL of my CS experiences in the future... I know there will be many!

Interests

Varied... depends on the moment. Some standards are:
Movies: Anything on the Vietnam War, Chick Flicks, Action (but not bloody gore)
Music: ALL types (except drive-by/shoot-em-up songs)
Books: Mystery (but not Science Fiction)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched 3 children grow into awesome, compassionate, exciting adults. Witnessed one of the biggest meteor showers from atop a mountain in 1997.
Currently preparing for a life change! I am leaving my family and friends here in the states in the Spring to travel and explore the world and serve others through my photography, business and faith.
