Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a fantastic range of people while I was living in Banff and my only regret is not hosting earlier. Great way to reignite my love of the town I called home for 3 years.

Now I'm traveling and surfing and my love for this community grows with each amazing host I am lucky enough to stay with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a couch surfing novice. I am looking forward to having people come and stay with me and hopefully when I go on my travels I will be able to stay with some interesting and fun people who can give me some local knowledge and take me off the beaten track.
Edit: I have had some great surfers come stay with me in the last few weeks, it's been so great experiencing Banff all over again through the eyes of a visitor!
Edit 2: now I get to experience life as a surfer and I'm loving every minute of it

Interests

Mountain life - snowboarding when there is snow, hiking and camping when there is not
i love to travel - my time in Banff was supposed to be for a single winter season but I got sucked into the bubble, now the travel bug has bitten once again and it is time to get back on the road
I love meeting new people, exploring new places and finding adventures along the way

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I like lots of movies, there are some that I didn't like! Movies are something that totally depends on the mood at the time. I like cheesy comedies like 21 jump st and superbad, I like documentaries like chasing ice and erasing hate, I like movies that are messed up like trainspotting and requiem, I just don't like them all at the same time!

Music: totally eclectic....biffy clyro, alt-j, band of horses, dizzy rascal, hilltop hoods, chromeo, dire straits, eric clapton, them crooked vultures, incubus, m83, imagine dragons, jay-z, the black keys, pearl jam, metallica and everything in between.

Books: currently reading GoT, also enjoy ...michael connelly, ian rankin, lee child, cormac mccarthy, irvine welsh, cs lewis, stephen king, conn iggulden, bill bryson, as well as true crime, historical fiction, and the auto/biographies of a host of various people

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a month living in and studying the flora and fauna of the Malaysian jungle. Came face to face with and OrangUtan on a rope bridge, watched elephants drink from the river 10m away and met some of the most amazing people.
