About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't regret!

ABOUT ME

Well travelled world citizen

Travelling opens your mind and can change you forever. I started my first longer trip with 19 to the Middle East which resulted to look for a profession which is both useful and fits with my desire to go abroad and dive into other cultures. I have never regretted!

PHILOSOPHY

treat others like you want to be treated;

don't stress yourself as most issues appear unimportant in a year's time from now

The value of life is not measured by the number of breaths it takes but by the moments it takes your breath away

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

friends told me

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:

I have hosted quite a number of surfers. Unfortunately, the site is used now more and more just as a cheap way to get free accomodation. The spirit of couch surfing is slowly disappearing.

Interests

still curious in other cultures;
still love travelling, hiking, biking, photography, relaxing on a veranda in a summer breeze, a good cup of coffee;
love international cuisines and try out all sorts of food (maybe almost all ...)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pink Floyd, Santana, Schiller; Music from Senegal and Mali; jazz, ... and everything else which is good :-)

Movies: Themroc; Dances with Wolves; Salt; Harold and Maude; Into the Wild; Slumdog Millionaire; Selma

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Being among the first 30 individually travelling tourists visiting Tibet;

- River cruise on the Jangtse from Chongqing to Wuhan, China (3 days) before the construction of the dam;

- travelling with the Transsiberian train to China;

- staying with nomads in the ruins of Petra, Jordan (before they were forced to leave by government)

- snorkelling in Sharm el-Sheikh, Red Sea (before it returned to Egypt and became a military area);

- experiencing an earthquake (6.8) in Mexico City at the 19th floor;

- Climbing Mt. Meru (4565m) in Tanzania;

- Crossing Palawan Island, Philippines, South to North through jungle in three days;

...
