About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Do the important stuff.
ABOUT ME
A bit tough maybe to write a whole bulletpoints explanation of my life. The more recent stuff has been great: traveling southeast asia and australia, learning about myself and growing as a person. Some of the stuff before that sucked some mean eggs but it made me (a pretty righteous dude) who I am today (dude.).
In the near future I hope to start a magazine, learn another language, learn to play classical guitar. Get my squats back up to 270 (once the knee is better!) and overcome a weak left arm/shoulder (on account of an industrial injury suffered a while ago!)
PHILOSOPHY
Please allow me to butcher a quote:
There are two types of mistakes one can make. Mistakes of ambition and mistakes of sloth.
My hope is to do as few of the latter and make as many of the former as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't been able to work out how to get verified yet because I don't actually live in the city I say I live in (its too small a town to get on the map), but there is usually a couch there if your unfortunate self is out in amish country.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: The cop-out 'everything' answer, but seriously, in no particular order: Jazz, Cambodian folk music, Country(more JohnnyCash less TobyKeith), Hip-hop(More Black Star less SouljaBoy), Progressive Rock(or whatever you call stuff like The Hold Steady), Indian hiphop, some K/J-pop(but usually only what my friends recommend), Electronic, House, UK Garage (The Streets and Example, for example).. lots more. Let's talk about music.
Favourite books: Fiction: "The Corrections"
Nonfiction: Hmm. tougher. "The Four Hour Work Week" or "The Ayatolla Begs to Differ: The Paradox of Modern Iran"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To those who have been to Luang Prabang in Laos you likely know of the waterfall, one of only two attractions the city really has (the other being a less than stellar night market) is a lot of waterfall/cascades in which you can swim and fly off of ropeswings into which is as you might imagine, heaps of fun.
What is less common is the sight you get climbing to the top, past the place where they say "Hey don't climb here" to the tiptop.
From there you walk through a bit of jungle, over a very large sideways tree, and you reach a fence-cum-ladder that leads you down to massive (and when we were there, very empty) basin. Bigger than any of the ones with ropeswings, deeper than any that you can dive into down toward sealevel, and with the most breathtaking view.
The friend of mine with the camera was pretty terrible at it, but here is a picture I found of some other fortunate souls who made it to this not-totally-hidden-but-slightly-difficult-to-get-to oasis.

and they're right, these photos don't at all do it justice.
