About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Earning enough money to get out of the rat-race and make another long journey...

PHILOSOPHY

I'm quite cool and polite person - maybe not so much of a talker, but one hell of a listener :) So, as long as there's a good topic which I find interesting, there's no end to the conversation.

My top priority in life is freedom. I'm always willing to try new things and explore the world.

"Don't believe their words. See it for yourself." - Konfutse

Here are some of my favorite movie quotes:
"The things you own...end up owning you." -Fight Club
"I don't wanna be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be product of me." -The Departed

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've reactivated, since nowadays I've got an apartment of my own. Nowadays I can host and participate in other ways than just in ways of surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A couple of surfs and dinners, so far. All of those have been great experiences :) No hosting yet.

Interests

If I'm not travelling, at least I am planning to do some travelling :) I also enjoy good literature, movies, music and art in general. Hiking, fishing and alpine skiing are my favorite hobbies. I'm also a certified open-water diver and a registered hunter.

In one year at a time, I want to do at least one alpine-skiing trip, one diving trip and another one for hiking and fishing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Basically, I like like almost every kind of music, but especially music that differs from the mainstream. My top 5 bands? - Well, at the moment I listen to Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Tool, Mogwai and Ozric Tentacles.

Movies: Stanley Kubrick (the director) will always be number one artist for me. Blade Runner, Fight Club, Apocalypse. Now!, Children of Men, American Beauty and There Will Be Blood have had the deepest impact on me.

Books: Graham Greene is my favorite author. The Human Factor and The Quiet American are great ones from him. The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera is a book everyone should read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I did an alpine skiing tour of the Andes in 2012. There are not many people from Finland who have done that!
- Climbing Mt. Huyana Potosi (6088m) on my 33th birthday was unforgettable!
- I did an Open Water Diver course in Taganga, Colombia and I highly recommend you do the same somewhere. Seeing the aquatic life is just amazing!
- Also, I have to mention: I've visited Munich (Munchen) for 7 times already, but I haven't been to Oktoberfest not once. (I met some German people who thought that's an achievement as well.... :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Due to my work I can teach construction. I also know a lot about economy, history, geography and art.
