Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am an open-minded adventurer, love knowing people, making and sharing art and music, hiking, sailing
ABOUT ME
I refuse to act my age, and I make people stare seeing an old lady driving a Harley-like motorcycle. I tend to explore my surroundings rather than stay at home where I should be. And my travels have been extensive. My big ears are willing to listen carefully to others and I have friends of all ages.
Although my resources are limited, there is always something to share with friends.
PHILOSOPHY
To live as many lives as possible in THIS incarnation. Why wait?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am willing to meet people, show them around my beautiful town (Aix-en-Provence) and the region of Provence. Being bi-lingual (English-French) and understanding some Spanish and German if you speak slowly, I am willing to offer translation if necessary.
My small apartment, though very well located, has just enough space for accommodating one not too-demanding person with a sleeping bag.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have just learned about this wonderful institution and am hoping to be able to increase my experience very soon so I can write something in this space! But I have had lots of people around the world invite me into their homes, and those moments have remained the most precious travel memories.
Interests
I'm interested in EVERYTHING! I am basically curious about absolutely all things and people and animals that exist. A little less curious about babies.

Music, Movies, and Books
I prefer non-fiction books, because I find real life fascinating. I like artsy-fartsy films in original versions. My musical tastes are eclectic: I have played drums in classical orchestras, dance bands, played folk-music (with Joan Baez amongst others), jazz, and even western music on TV. I am presently singing in a group that features traditional music from around the world in languages of all kinds.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most remarkable memory is when I had to fix a broken mast-stay on a sailboat during a tempest. I was sailing alone, and said to myself while being thrown about the boat, looking at the huge breaking waves, "What a wonderful way to die!"
Teach, Learn, Share
I have spent my life teaching: architecture, law, language, music, and art. And I am constantly learning something useful from everyone I know.
