About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find out what on earth to do with myself.

ABOUT ME

I love travel, but not travel like Americans tend to think about it. I worked in Taiwan for two months, I read the daily paper as often as possible, talked to locals and ex-pats frequently, traveled around, etc. I loved it, I loved getting to know the area and it's people personally. The experience transcends value.

By contrast, I went to Costa Rica for about a week. I practiced surfing, laid in a hammock on the halcyonic volcanic coast, and read books... I was fairly isolated from locals, no newspapers, etc. etc. I was pretty close to actively disliking this vacation. It was so painful to see the tourist industry ripping into the environment there, the primary draw for the tourists, and sucking the life out of the locals... Yet I couldn't -really- talk in depth to anyone about it because everyone was just passing through...

Oh right, I also love cooking (vegetarian leaning), learning about all kinds of people through actual discussion with them, self-expression through creative means, using the body as a canvas, etc. etc.

PHILOSOPHY

Be understanding.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I may be able to provide a couch for nights, definitely if you just need a place during the night (hunkering down for longer, not so sure). I can recommend some good restaurants depending on your tastes, maybe go sight seeing with you (with good planning) because I haven't explored Boston much my self yet :)
