About Me

CURRENT MISSION

being happy, enjoy life, discover, travel, try to make the world a better place... :-)

ABOUT ME

I would say that I m an open minded person who loves to live and to enjoy life! I love spending time with good friends but also with new and interesting people! After I ve finished school, I spent one year in France and since that time I just cannot stop traveling and discovering the world. There is soo much to see...
Besides traveling I love doing all kinds of sports, especially snowboarding, surfing, swimming, tennis, beach volleyball, basketball.. and I just got into triathlon and signed up for my first half ironman this summer (2013)
I am also interested in different cultures and intercultural communication...

And, by the way... I am all excited - I will be traveling to Southeast Asia starting in July (until after Christmas). I will be visiting several countries in Asia before heading home to Germany for Christmas. After Christmas I ll be flying back to Canada with a 2 day stop in Reykjavik!!! wow :)

Anyway, if you are interested in helping a worthy cause (improving childrens' education in Southeast Asia), please visit my blog and have a look at my project. Please spread the word and if you can, donate a few cents/dollars to make a difference :)Everything is explained on my blog! Thanks so much in advance for considering this project.

PHILOSOPHY

the world is a book, if you don t travel, you only read the first page!

...and that would be sad, there are soo many things to discover, different countries, new people, interesting cultures.. crazy places...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfing is such a great thing... I had very good experiences so far and I would like to get to know more people being that open minded, sharing interesting stories with them and make the world a little bit a better place :) I would like to host more often if possible and start travelling more as well...

I am always trying to spread the idea of couchsurfing to friends who would for sure be good hosts or surfers :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love CourchSurfing, I already used hospitalityclub a lot, but now friends recommended me this webside... and I really like it, it s so much more personal...

Thanks to everybody! it's such a great idea!!! :)
Thanks to Couchsurfing I had an awesome stay in the States and as well in Canada (staying at someones place, meeting up for soccer, for dinner...)... you travel on your own, but you re not alone!

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: das leben der anderen, keinohrhasen, das parfum, les choristes, sex and the city, the words, mamma mia...

music: portfreunde stiller and other german bands ... french music, musicals, cumbia y salsa... current music that I hear on the radio and that I use to teach my spinning classes with.

...and I just got into audiobooks... i really started liking them... especially while running, they make it so much more fun... especially while being on the treadmill :) ... And during these long and boring drives through the Canadian prairies!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

standing my first wave, traveling to Madagascar, Mayotte, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Hawaii... doing para gliding on Reunion Island (Indian ocean), skydiving and manta ray snorkeling in Hawaii, visiting NYC, beeing in Washington DC for the very first election night of OBAMA (this day was my 25th birthday, what a party!!!), discovering Marrakesh, drawing on my snowboard the first line in fresh-fallen snow, traveling through the Rockies and seing a black bear (REALLY close!), working with kids in a soccer project in san jose, costa rica, finishing my first half ironman triathlon with a big smile on my face... falling in love...

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to share my language skills... so if anyone is interested in learning German for exemple... :)

I would love to learn more about each culture... I would love to share stories... about traveling and others. As a teacher, I am especially interested in learning about other schools and school systems and how students learn and how they are taught in different places/countries...
