About Me

CURRENT MISSION

exploring other cultures as well as my own and meeting new people from all over the world :)

ABOUT ME

I always want to take as much out of the time I have as possible and don't miss any opportunities to do something fun, crazy, great, once-in-a-lifetime-experience :-) Spending time with the people I love is of a high importance to me. Try to make the most out of now and don't regret anything!

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy every moment! No regrets! (Don't let great opportunities slip away...) Be a part of something :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Exploring other cultures but at the same time sharing something of myself and my own life/culture/ideas :-) I love meeting new people and broaden my horizon. I try to challenge myself by stepping out of the comfort zone of my everyday life :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was looking forward to my first CouchSurfing experience ever since I read Brian Thacker's book "Sleeping Around - a Couch Surfing Tour of the Globe" and some of my friends told me some of the experiences they had with CouchSurfing.

Ever since I started to surf couches, I became a huge fan. At first I thought that it is a good idea to pay less while traveling, but the truly awesome aspect about it is the possibility to meet really interesting people from all over the world and share a bit of your culture and interests. I started CouchSurfing in Rennes and Paris and met really great people that I am still in contact with and will hopefully see again soon :)

Interests

I'm surrounded by wonderful people, places and opportunities and I'm thankful for all the possibilities I have. I love to explore and find beautiful new spots, even in my hometown Hamburg. There is so much stuff to do that I love, going for a picnic in the park, a walk at the harbour, flea markets on weekends, music festivals in the summer, going to the movies or the theatre, swimming in lakes, grabbing a coffee and especially going out to eat breakfast. I love breakfast and I could eat it all day (sometimes I'd do that ;) I know tons of places where the serve all-day-breakfast... Also, I love to go out with my friends, get a drink and dance all night long!

Music, Movies, and Books

Only mentioning a few... I really enjoy all kinds of good movies, music, books...

Movies: Drama is my favorite type of movie, like "One Day"!

Books: Fantasy novels (especially "Harry Potter", one summer, I read all seven sequels in a row! ;) ) and history novels. Also biografies and stories that actually took place...

Music: Singer-Songwriter music or Indie/Rock to chill and relax, Indie/Pop/Rock to dance to at music festivals and electronic music to go out! But I can pretty much dance to every music if I want to ;)
I took dancing lessons for about ten years in Jazz and HipHop, so I also enjoy that kind of music. And since I've been in an orchestra for a few years playing the violin, I'm also into classical music :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The beautiful landscape in Alaska, its width and untouched nature is amazing! I really want to go back and see the glaciers again!

When I was 14, I spend three wonderful weeks in a camp for children in Buenos Aires in Argentina and at the last day of camp, I got so sad that I will probably never see all the wonderful people again that I started crying so hard like never before or after that in my whole life... A truly deeply moving moment!

Also, West-Africa and its people impressed me so much! The people appreciate their lives so much, I had the feeling that they were often more satisfied than many people in Germany, even though they have much more things... It taught me that it's worth appreciating everything you have and focus on the positive aspects in your life in order to be happy!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely talk a lot about breakfast and brunch ;) And I make really good pancakes too! Breakfast for dinner is one of my favorite dishes... In my hometown Hamburg or Lueneburg, I know the best places where to get a good breakfast.

Also, if you're into something more philosophical, let's talk about how to make the world a better place... start with the children. Have you ever heard of the CISV? One of the greatest NGOs around the world ;)
Other than that, I have the dream of a bonfire at the beach at night while singing songs accompanied by a guitar. I can play the violin and the piano, but I'd love to learn playing the guitar to play those bonfire-songs ;)
