About Me
Some things I like: I love spending my summer afternoons outside talking to people or sitting alone in the sun, I love bisons, I like to sing, I love the artist Vermeer and the atmosphere he creates in his paintings as well as most things by Lotte Laserstein, I like seeing other people laugh, I like literature and poems and collecting quotes, I really love the German writers Sibylle Berg and Carolin Emcke, I sugar coated ginger and chocolate and licorice, I like thinking about things in a group, painting, the smell in the air after a long rain, I love sitting outside in the sun and reading, I like to swim (but only in natural sees or rivers, especially at night), I like aikido, yoga, fresh baked oven-warm bread and astra bear, I love languages and how every language has it's particular way of saying things, I love to work outside in the nature, everything green, to play volleyball outside in a park or on the beach and since I was young I'm a big fan of the ancient greek mythology, art and culture, but I don't really know why.
I don't like discrimination or any kind of behavior hurting or restricting other peoples human rights
(I don’t accept friend requests from people I haven’t met :))
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it's a great means to get to know places beside the popular and well known spots, while at the same time exchanging time, knowledge and solidarity instead of money :)
Music, Movies, and Books
I don't think I'm able to only pick one book, but at the the moment, "Blaue Frau" by the German writer Antje Ravik Strubel, "Vielen Dank für das Leben" by Sibylle Berg and Baldwin's "Giovanni's Room" and Ocean Vuongs „On earth we’re briefly gorgeous“ are at the beginning of a long list. For music: Dino Brandaos newest album, most Songs from Mashrou' Leila and everything by Kae Tempest. I also like classical music
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Many things! And also: hiking to the peak of Mount Olympus while working in Greece, that was great!
Teach, Learn, Share
Like to learn a lot of things, how to play ukulele, how to properly speak Arabic and Greek, how to make raki, how to play poker, how to make people treat each other (and the planet!) nicely ... :) And a lot of more things
Can share my recipes for Tomato-Salt-Butter and Mousse au chocolat, some book recommendations, knitting skills, a bit of Swabian dialect.
