About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to connect with real people, having real conversations in real time.
I consider the world to be in a state of hyper cyber-connectivity where there is less and less space and time for people to physically meet each other. That's why I am feeling compelled to move out of my comfort zone and my small corner of the universe and seek out others.........connecting on a human level.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find that my musical tastes are so varied I am unable to chose a favorite. I like something from most musical genres. Nothing beats live music especially if you can dance to it.
I enjoy the Harry Potter movies (books too) and I am a big fan of Star Trek The Next Generation series; The X-Men is pretty good but my all time favorite is a kids movie How to Train Your Dragon.
Variety in my books is also important as I read a lot. Recently I have finished 'Guide to Astrology Keep It Simple Series', 'if the buddah got stuck' a handbook for change on a spiritual path, I worked my way through some beginners Quantum physics and couldn't put down 'Nineteen Minutes' by Jodi Picoult a truly exceptional modern writer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It worked. In 2013 one amazing thing I did was make an ascent of Mount Asgard in the Valhalla Range B.C. This was my first time. I didn't lead the multi pitch climb. However I efficiently and smoothly managed my belays, including hanging belays and followed swiftly and easily.
Climbing is one of my top 3 passions. I still get a little scared :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I have so much to learn and I am excited that I have an opportunity to go exploring cultures new to me. I am interested in natural buildings and sustainable farming, authentic cuisine, art, music and dancing.
Once I return to Vancouver island I sincerely look forward to hosting but until July 2017, I am a traveller.
