About Me

(they/them)

💉vaccinated

Hiya!

My name is Jules and I love reading, writing, and expressing myself, as I'm passionate about a lot of things, big and small. I love traveling; the very idea of being on the road suits me very well, I think. I love being in nature, though I often need to remind myself of it.

I love getting to know new people and my friends often tell me I have a way of getting along with everybody - I hope that's true, as I enjoy sparking conversations with people and finding unexpected things we might have in common.

I like languages and I like playing with language, I'm a creative person and I often use writing as my outlet. I enjoy watching theatre plays too, and I recently got into writing reviews and critical pieces, and even published some in zines, which is very cool.

oh, I'm a big fan of dogs. and coffee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Cause I obviously love traveling, exploring new places, and meeting people! I also feel like I need a break sometimes, and inserting myself into different environments clears my head gorgeously.

Music, Movies, and Books

lately, I'm very much into Sudan Archives, boygenius and ethel cain. And the song "Bipolar" by Anastasia Rydlevskaya. She's an artist from the city I greatly recommend her work.

When it comes to movies: Secret Sunshine, Decision to Leave and Banshees of Inisherin.

Books: I've been coming back to fantasy lately (I read a lot of it in middle- and highschool, and then switched to fiction, and now I'm reluctantly back again) "This Is How You Lose The Time War" was amazing, and "A Psalm for the Wild-Built" I recently finished and I think it's gonna be an all-time favorite. it's refreshingly optimistic for book set in the future, and beautiful. Next on my list is Earthsea, a classic I still haven't gotten to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done some, but I'm feeling the best is still coming.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn anything you'd like to share. I work in a teashop, so I'd be happy to share cool facts about tea harvesting and brewing. I'd be even happier to bring you some to try.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Phrases from my mother tongue, book recommendations. I would love to walk your dog if you have one!
