About Me
I'm a wanderer; I spend half the year (summer!) in Melbourne, Australia and the other half traveling.
A long time ago I joined the CS community as a host and guest and enjoyed both sides of the equation greatly. Over time though, the community seemed to lose its spirit and before long 100% of my couch requests were merely from backpackers trying to avoid paying for accommodation. So I stopped hosting and stopped surfing. In general these days, I'm happy to pay for a room somewhere - and just use CS to have a community of like-minded people wherever I found myself in the world.
In short, it works. So CS is still very valuable to me. Let's hope it can survive in the long term, because it has given us all so much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Love to meet new, interesting people. Travel is generally the easiest way to satisfy that - people with an international world view, and particularly those prepared to pack up their lives and try living somewhere completely different, seem to be the most interesting.
