About Me
instagram: @julesmari_
Hi! I'm Jules, a curious soul from the Philippines currently traveling and studying across Europe. I'm passionate about science (especially anything related to physics, space, and the Earth), cultures, and meaningful conversations with people from all walks of life.
I'm part of an international master's program in planetary geoscience, which takes me to different countries to study landscapes on Earth, and how they help us understand other planets. I love hiking, photography, art, and learning local histories through the eyes of the people who live them.
I’m easygoing, clean, respectful, and genuinely enjoy connecting with people whether it’s over coffee, cooking together, or just sharing stories after a long day. I believe that the best part of traveling isn't the places, but the people you meet along the way.
Looking forward to new experiences, new friends, and shared adventures!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe travel is about people, not just places. Staying with locals gives me a deeper, more human connection to the places I visit beyond tourist spots and guidebooks. I love hearing stories, learning how others live, and sharing perspectives. It's also a great way to practice cultural exchange, make real friendships, and contribute to a more open, generous world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love indie, RNB, ballads, and pop!
my favorite book as of the moment is 'A Little Life' (tragic, i know!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked through a remote Martian-analog landscape in Spain, interpreting millions of years of geological history then later compared it to rover data from Mars. Basically, I went on a field trip that spanned two planets.
Erasmus Mundus masters!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share what I know about planetary science, geology, and how we use Earth to understand other planets. I’m also happy to teach a few Filipino words or phrases
I’m always eager to learn about other cultures, languages, everyday life in your part of the world, and the hidden local spots tourists usually miss. I’d also love to learn new photography tricks especially from fellow photo enthusiasts!
I’m an amateur photographer, so I enjoy sharing travel stories and moments through my lens. I can also share good conversations, music, simple food, and help out around the house. I believe even small exchanges can leave a big impact.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good company, thoughtful conversation, and a respectful presence in your space. I'm always happy to help with household chores, or exchange travel stories and photography tips. If you're curious about planets, space, or science, I’d love to share what I know in a fun and accessible way. I can also take some nice photos of your place or your city if you'd like a visitor’s perspective through the lens!
Most of all, I try to bring good energy, kindness, and a genuine appreciation for anyone generous enough to open their home.
