About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To use my skills to help overcome poverty and create opportunities in developing countries!

ABOUT ME

I live by taking risks, asking, doing, learning and laughing. I was born in a country that no longer exists (USSR) and in the past five years have lived in Washington D.C., Miami, Paris and now New York City. Before starting law school, I worked as a journalist, covering everything from murders and natural disasters, to political corruption, celebrity scandal and corporate shakeups. Now I'm doing something much less exciting, but something that pays the bills - I work as a lawyer at a corporate law firm. I love to stay active, run, play tennis, practice yoga, dance and experience adventure. I will try anything once. I love food, especially ethnic, interesting cuisine. I'm a champion vodka drinker!

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything once. Work hard, play hard, and sleep when you die.
Do as you mean, and mean as you do. Your words and actions make you who you are.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first wandered upon couchsurfing in South America, where I surfed in five countries and have since hosted two of my CS hosts back in New York. I was immediately hooked, not by the prospect of free housing but by the rush of seeing a place through the eyes of a local, not through a guidebook. I've since surfed beds in Strasbourg and Istanbul, tatami mats in Tokyo and pillows in the Pacific Northwest.

I love music I can dance to, and also older rock music to really pump me up!
My fav. movies are Training Day, City of God and of course, Superbad!
