About Me

Hey, my name is Julia but almost everyone calls me Jule. I used to live in Osnabrück, a small town in the north-west of Germany before leaving everything behind on 1st of January 2017 to travel around the world with my husband Seb. We married in October 2016 and decided to explore as much as possible of wonderful mother earth before settling down somewhere and start a family. :-)

Since we became a couple in 2010 we are travelling as much as possible - this is why the list of countries I've visited is already that long. But during our actual world travel we explored India, Nepal and Vietnam (each for 2 months).

What I like most about travelling that much is the precious freedom of doing whatever you want to do. E.g. I really love nature and being active in it. Hiking for a week, camping, kayaking, cycling - that's what makes me really happy. On top of that I like to listen to the stunning silence in mountain landscapes away from all the noise inside the cities. I want to share all the experiences with people around the world and additionally want to experience new adventures together with them. I do have so many plans accoring to things I want to learn and go through. E.g. I want to learn how to surf, climb a mountain over 6.000m, learn the Japanese language and playing guitar- all in companion of my husband and lots of lovely peolpe from all over the world if possbile.

When I am not travelling I am running a lot at home, I even finished two marathons. I love meeting my friends, playing funny games together, cooking with them and enjoy relaxing evenings. On top of that I participate in musicals that are presented on a local outdoor stage in my hometown. All my friends participate as well and this is what makes it so familiar and special to me. We for example performed the musical "The Wedding Singer" - maybe you know the famous movie :-) When I come back home together with Seb my biggest dream is to set up a cozy café and to have some lovely dishes from all over the world in my menu. I want to offer people a room to share experiences about travelling and would like to offer different workshops to share knowledge with lots of different people.

Music is also a very big component in my life that I need to survive certain circumstances. I am a big fan of Coldplay and went to two concerts with Seb. Unbelievable! I also like listening to Indie Pop music like London Grammar, The Kooks or TwoDoorsCinemaClub. Sometimes I even listen to System of a Down - depends on my mood ;-) This leads to another interesting fact of me: I am almost always a happy person, I do strongly believe in justice and am a very emphatical person. I like to listen for hours to friends and even strangers when they feel a strong desire to tell me their problems. I even sometimes don't say a single word, I just listen to them and offer them the open ear they need. I am always optimistic and am strongly convinced that everything is possible. But of course I am not perfect... Nobody is - so I have some "special features" as I call them ;-) I am super clumsy and forgettable. I do not have the ability to orientate myself (not even in my hometown!) and I stumble about every stone in my way. So be prepared ;-)

Everything else about me, my life and our travel-the-world-project could be subject when I meet you during different couchsurfing experiences. I am really looking forward to meeting lots of lovely people and am very interested in getting to know you and what makes you and your hometown special. I am open to try almost every food (maybe except whale meat...) and to experience whatever is authentic for you and your place.

Hope to see you soon and cheers!
Jule

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would really like to meet people from all over the world by showing them my hometown or by experiencing their life in their home country. Especially I would like to learn about the real daily life, the work and the culture of people from countries all over the world. This is why I created this account and I hope to make my travel experiences more precious with that.
I am looking forward to hosting you or even to be your guest.
