Overview
About Me
I am an American working on immigrating to Canada. One of my favorite things to do in the whole world is learning new cultures and languages. My favorite thing to do in a new country is try the local food, go on a hike, and learn a new dance style. I love to talk and meet new people and learn more about the world around me.
I automatically love pets of all kinds. I loved meeting an apartment cat in Paris named Milo and Smokey the cat in Canada was such a good host! Since then, I’ve met many many more. I have 2 cats myself right now, but I’ve had dogs and bunnies over the years. And even a frog once!
My boyfriend is just like me when it comes to experiencing the world. He’s from India, so we might not be the best Canada experts yet, but hopefully this is the place for us. One day, I'd love to have a big family as I love kids. Of course, I'll teach them all I know and will make sure they get to travel the world too. We're raising cultured people, I promise.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I like to meet new people and travel while on the budget of an immigrant. Because of CouchSurfing, I’ve been able to meet so many wonderful people from Croatia, Turkey, and more.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like pretty much everything. In the car, I listen to country. When I'm studying, I'll listen to lofi music. I like jamming out to musicals and indie pop music. I'm a sucker for a piano or an acoustic guitar song. I'll listen to a lot of fpop too.
My favorite artist is Beth Crowley
My current obsession is Rose Betts
Movies: My favorite movie is Tangled. I love animated, horror, and fantasy movies the most. My vice, however, is what I dub trash movies--the movies with B-rated actors not knowing they were engaged to the secretly rich heiress before marrying someone else and the secret heiress marries a homeless man that's actually the richest man in the world. The story is always the same, but I'm a sucker for the silly romance.
Books: I love fantasy, romance, thriller, and mystery novels the most. I also read a lot of Webtoon. I actually host a virtual book club every month.
My current obsession is A Court of Thorns and Roses and I'm not ashamed of that.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's really hard to pick one amazing moment as I loved my wedding day, I loved my time studying in Canada, and I loved my time working (and eating) directly with the Nepalese community.
The coolest thing I've done abroad is probably snowshoeing in the Alps. The views were like a backdrop. Zakopane was beautiful too. And Croatia (I snuck off for a little hike). Oh! And Peru! So hard to pick just one.
Or the most nerve-wracking thing was the time I got lost in Brazil.
I've also gone winter camping in Canada where we built a quinzee and stuffed fifteen people inside. That was awesome.
In the States, I've done a multi-day hike on the Appalachian Trail (not the whole thing, but still cool).
Lowkey, I'm a pretty optimistic person and it's hard for me not find every moment awesome.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I will always teach people (who ask) about American culture...maybe aspects they don't quite know from movies and such. My favorite Midwestern word to teach is 'ope'.
Learn: I am a sponge (although my memory is not always the best). If you teach me about your culture, language, interests, I am all ears.
Share: I will always share my experiences, but I will not speak for other cultures that I am not a part of—just share what I got to do.
What I Can Share with Hosts
With hosts, I can easily keep a conversation. I love playing board games and exploring cities. I can keep quiet when need be and I try to keep my mess to my space only.
With guests, the same things apply as with hosts, but I can also help you explore the area time-permitting (which I don’t have a lot of nowadays, but I can give recs).
