About Me
Hello!
My name is Julia, I'm out here travelling plenty and always chasing the next adventure. I've spent five years working as a butcher but I'm currently taking a break from working to explore!
I've grown up in Ottawa, Canada and still call Canada my permanent home. Very grateful and fortunate to have gotten to explore so much of the vast country I call my own, now: for the rest of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The people!! Meeting the beautiful hosts is one of my favourite things about travelling. They always have beautiful stories and it's so lovely to be greeted by people who are genuine. Being fully immersed in the lifestyle of wherever you're visiting is lovely and I feel very privileged to be able to experience that as well.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently:
Music I'm into a very wide range of things - from classics like Ella & Louis to garage-y rock (like Parquet Courts, Black Lips) to acoustic and mellow classical. Huge appreciation for local music and local music scenes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a week in a cave in Gran Canaria - the biggest island of the canary islands. It was on the edge of a volcanic basin and everywhere you looked were red mountains and cacti. It was the most incredible place I've ever seen and been lucky to visit!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am always happy to share my skills building things, local businesses and startups, event planning, butchering (to a certain point - not full animal), baking and cooking. Also always happy to have good discussions and chat about current events, music, history - pretty much anything!!
