About Me

I am an easygoing traveller looking to meet interesting people wherever I go. I teach high school age students math and science and travel or bike tour on holidays.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about this community from a friend of mine and it sounded like my ideal way to travel. I do not currently have a place of my own where I can host people but I look forward to the experience in the future. I love the idea of connecting travellers from all over the world to make traveling on a budget more possible and to create opportunities for meeting people wherever you are.

Interests

I am interested in many different things and I love sharing these interests with other people or learning about new things from people that I meet. I love long political and or philosophical conversations over a glass of wine or even better a nice whisky. I also enjoy getting outside and I always make sure to include some hiking or biking in every trip that I do.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I mostly like folk or alternative music: Hawksley Workman, Basia Bulat, Gordon Lightfoot, HAIM, First Aid Kit, Paul Simon, Mumford and Sons.

Movies: V for Vendetta, Fried Green Tomatoes, Avengers, and lots of others, I like anything with a decent plot and good characters.

Books: I like a lot of different books, mostly Fantasy or British literature which I know is a weird mix. Some of my favourite authors are Guy Gavriel Kay, Jane Austen, Tolkien, and Joseph Boyden.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I biked across Nova Scotia and around the Cabot Trail by myself in the summer of 2015. I would really like to do more bike touring.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach random science facts and I enjoy discussing quantum physics with anyone who shares my interest.
I love learning, anything really but music is probably the highest on my list of things I would like to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and especially like cooking with other people.

Countries I’ve Visited
