About Me

Hi!
My name is Julia and I am an international student from Poland studying at the Univesity of Leeds. I am a first year student and my main goal during my studies is to visit as many places as possible.

Since I have been a little child, travelling always has appealed to me; To name few of my favourite trips: Week in Bieszczady mountains hiking from shelter to shelter with heavy backpack on my back, covering over 30km daily; Erazmus+ project about National Identity and Tolerance in Sweden, Hiking trip to Tatras mountains or South Italy trip! What is the best part - all of those cost me almost nothing! I forgot to mention, I am a big bargain-seeker haha

I am keen on meeting people from all around a world as I have a lot of invaluable memories connected with such expieriences - I have volounteered on the World Youth Days, I am also a part of AIESEC LC UK.

If you have any questions, just ask me directly, I will answer each of them :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Essentially - I love visiting new places as well as coming back to places I love!
As a stereothypical student I cannot really afford any hotels or hostels, as all of the money I earn go to my day-to-day life, and also, I find it somehow exciting to find cheap travel opportunities - I somehow treat it almost like an achievement 😀

My goal is to see as many places as possible during my studies and I am really keen on achieving my goal!
I even have a wish list with all of the places that I want to visit throughout my life - yes, I am extremely keen on travelling :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the age of 17 I was chosen to be a part of an 'Erasmus+' team, working on national identity and tolerance topic. During workshops held in both Poland and Sweden, teams of people from different backgrounds and countries worked together on presentations and assessments. This project improved my knowledge as well as made me rethink some cases. Since then I have perceived the world as a sum of individuals and have tried to find common goals instead of unproductive rivalry. During the following summer, I worked on the World Youth Days, dealing with over 1.5million of people from all around the world! All of the skills I developed on Erasmus+ project, I applied in this role. Meeting various people from so many countries helped me understand better their needs and cultures. It showed me how complex the world is and that there is always a place for partnership. I got to know that even though we all come from different places with different culture and languages, then what really matter are kindness, support, honesty and trust.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very open to talking long hours about each person' experiences and interesting travels, as it is probably my biggest interest.

I also am up to teach anything I can, if host finds anything worth teaching 😀 Hah, since I am learning Chinese and I am Polish then maybe some language?

I would like to learn about how day-to-day life looks like in the particular country I happen to be in, as it is such an interesting topic to see the differences and similarities in lifestyles' of people coming from different countries!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share every experience I ever had, supporting my story with pictures from each trip, since I love taking pictures to have something to come back to!

I can help with house duties as well if needed!

I can tell you about my, Polish culture or about Leeds, city I am currently living in.
I can share insights from my volounteering work in AIESEC LC UK, as I am pround to be a part of the team!

Generally, I am up to any conversation about any topic! 😀
Ps. I am talkative person
