About Me
Hello my name is Julia,
I took a year off after highschool to study abroad and to travel around in the USA. After one year I decided that I like it here and extended my stay for another 6 month.
Unfortunately, I cannot host right now. Simple, because I do not live in my own apartment. As soon as I move back to Germany I will accept guests.
But if you are in DC area I am definitively game to show you around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
how I got introduced to it:
I was at my friend's apartment when suddenly two people I have never seen before walked in. They brought sleeping bags and a suitcases. I was totally confused about what was going on!? So my friend explained me what CS is about.
At first it just seemed like a free way to stay somewhere, but as more as we talked about it it got clear that CS is way more than just crushing at a place..
Why CS and not Airbnb:
If you are just looking for a free place to stay then CS is not the right thing for you. It might be really tempting, but the people you staying with are paying for their apartment. So it's not fair to them to just crush and leave them totally behind. People talk about the CS "spirit". But some people get scared if they hear the word spirit so I would rather say "vibe". The fun thing about CS is that you have stories to tell. The hosts I met made each place I have been special. It is about getting along, sharing favourite places, and having a fun time discovering a new city. Who likes to go casual today?? Casual is boring. Just get out there meet people and give them a chance to show you a place through their view. - at least that is what I think (:
Interests
I am a really active person, I love to play badminton ( I am also coaching ~ 100 kids each Wednesday), play the piano, go skating, running, climbing and lifting weights.
In my freetime I like to spend as much time as possible with my family and friends. 'Cause during the week I barely find time for them.
