About Me

Hi I'm Julia ! I'm still a student, I've just finish 5 years of history studies in Paris and I'm taking the whole year (sept 2018 - may 2019) to travel and build a new project.

This trip is about environment, eco-friendly people and "how to travel without ruining the planet". I'm planning on interviewing people who are trying to build a better world, in fields like ecotourism, organic agriculture and as many I can find.
When you're interesting in environment, you're also interesting in people of course !Because everybody has something to offer, a new idea or a simple action. So during my trip I would like to meet amazing people who are as passionate as I am and are willing to share, not only a bed/couch but their experience.

My friends and family usually tell me that I'm "low-maintenance" cause I love so many things. I can enjoy as much a museum, a night at the movie theater, an amazing view in the nature, the silence of cities at night and the sound of the sea. I'm the kind of girl who loves life and what it has to offer, I love to see the beauty around me and taking the time to enjoy little moments.
So I have to say, I love people who are low-maintenance too, curious, open to new-experiences and, most of all, capable of a good laugh ! If you have those qualities (yes you, reading this profile), we're probably going to get along and I'm impatient to meet you !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want more opportunities to meet amazing people. In your everyday life, you suddenly realize, too often, that you're alone most of the day and don't have so much time to meet someone new.

With couchsurfing, I can have this time back, by meeting people from around the world, with other experiences, other point of views. I can have it back, and even enrich it in so many ways !

Interests

I'm interesting in many things. Obviously, as I studied it, I love history and I specialized in women and colonial history. I'm also a pianist and I love music, I couldn't live without music.
Since a couple of years I started to use a camera I had, and now photography is one of my favorite hobby, it makes me look at the world differently. I also love reading since I'm a child, and I can be describe as a bookaholic.

These are my main center of interest but I regularly discover new ones like diving, hiking, cooking...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : The Beatles for the basics, Bob Marley for the memories, Bruno Mars for the urgency to dance, Anderson Paak for the beat, Etienne Daho for the french
Films : The big blue, Casablanca, any movie with Tom Hanks, Jake Gyllenhal, Eva Green, or Sophie Marceau.
Books : I have an unconditional love for Romain Gary, Luis Sepulveda, Dostoeivski, Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie, Toni Morrison and many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm just starting the adventure I dreamt about for years, so I'll get back to this category in a couple of months !

Teach, Learn, Share

I've teach french for a couple of years, so if you want to work on your french, I'd be happy to help you ! And I'm open for anything you could and would show/teach me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

When I'm showing Paris or my region to friends, I love to take them to places that are, in my opinion, underestimate. Place with an odd history or where you can't see or imagine at first, the beauty and the interest of it. So I can only hope that the people I will meet will have the same desire.

Also, I can be a good cook, (according to my family) and homemade pancakes and vegetable pies are something I'd love to make for you !

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cambodia, Costa Rica, England, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Indonesia
