About Me
I moved to New Zealand for work in October last year and I've loved living and travelling around the country! I grew up in London and have also lived and worked in the North of England. I was keen to try something new and the southern hemisphere has been great so far.
I love exploring new places and seeing new things and have taken the opportunity to travel when I can in between studying and work. I've met some amazing people when travelling and feel lucky to live in a time when technology makes it so easy to keep in contact with people from around the world.
I am an easy going and friendly person, I try to make the most out of bad situations and finding the positives in them (which isn't always easy!) I am generally quite an active person and have been playing capoeira (Brazilian martial art) for 4 years. I also run, climb, tramp and am happy to try out most new things. I enjoy cooking and have never known someone to turn down my baking!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Most of what I like about travelling is meeting new people who have different backgrounds and experiences. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to do this to find new people with lots of interesting stories! I lived with a lovely group of girls when I was in Nepal and I saw so much more of the country through their eyes. I also think you learn so much more about a place by talking to people who live there and finding out what they think about where they live.
Interests
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that involves aspects of dance, gymnastics and music. It's been great for me to try lots of new things with it - from basic fitness to learning a few songs in Portuguese.
I've baked for a while and have found that the best recipes are often the simplest - very few people say no to chocolate brownies :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Learning the braille alphabet to write letters to a girl in Nepal who was blind. I'm still a big fan of writing letters, even if it is a bit old fashioned!
