About Me

Hi! I'm a student from Memphis, TN, a little new to Couchsurfing, but excited to try it out. I've been studying French for a few years now, and I've studied in France a couple times, so I'm always happy to practice the language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get to know people from other countries and cultures in a very personal setting. What better way to experience a location than to actually live for a short time with somebody from that place?

Unfortunately I can't host right now because I'm in a teeny tiny dorm room, but I hope in the future to be able to.

Interests

First and foremost, I love cooking and eating, especially when it's new and unfamiliar. I'm also a reader when I have the time, and a lover of housecats.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hmm I like lots of music, and I go through a lot of phases, but in general I'd say I'm a fan of The Decemberists, Bon Iver, Alabama Shakes, Lianne La Havas, The Milk Carton Kids, Jose Gonzales, etc.

My favorite movies are more for their emotional connections to various parts of my life/people I watched them with than the actual quality: Little Miss Sunshine, The Three Amigos, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Pride and Prejudice, and the like.

Ugh I wish I read more. It used to be what I did the minute I had any free time, but it's been so long since I've really settled down with a good book. But the old ones I used to love were all the Harry Potters, Pride and Prejudice, The Elegance of the Hedgehog (aka L'Elégance du hérisson), EE Cumming's Selected Poems 1923-58

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, especially breakfast food. So if you'd like, I'm always down to make a big, Southern American style breakfast feast, at any time of the day.

I also have very rudimentary ukulele skills and an acceptable singing voice, so if you want to have a pleasant but not terribly overwhelming jam session, I can oblige!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland
