About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because staying with locals is one of the best ways to get to know an area. When you stay in hotels, you miss out on learning about the local culture, making new friends, and experiencing an authentic local lifestyle. I love meeting new people, traveling to locations off the beaten path, and exchanging culture. Couchsurfing is a great way to do these things!
I am also on Couchsurfing to stay up on any local events/meetups in the area in which I am traveling or in my own home back in the US. I do not necessarily have to stay in someone's home to have a great time - I enjoy meeting up with locals or travelers to grab a coffee, go sightseeing, or go out dancing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sat next to a stranger on a bus traveling from Croatia to Bosnia in 2019. He and I ended up chatting (it was a 7 hour bus ride), and he invited me to his friend's wedding in Sarajevo that weekend! Luckily I was going there next anyways, so I was able to attend the wedding! It turned out that he was the best man at the wedding, so I got to sit at the head table next to the bride and groom! Though I didn't speak the language, I was still able to bond will the other wedding-goers through eating, drinking, and lots and lots of dancing!
