About Me

Hi there!

My name is Julia and I am currently living in Berlin. I am doing my graduate studies in Art History at Freie Universität in Berlin. I love the arts and I love to travel, I love to eat and cook and get to know cultures through their eating habits and individual stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think to get to know a foreign place best is by meeting its locals, talk to them, hear their stories and dreams and also get to know their everyday life. Also as a student I myself don't have too much money and like to travel cheap and I would like to give people who don't want to stay in an overtly expensive and anonymous hotel the chance to get to know Berlin and Germany a little better.

Interests

I am very interested in visual arts, but also in theater and all kinds of music. I love to read and go to the movies. I really like food and to go out to have a drink or coffee and of course to dance all night - I live in Berlin after all ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to listen to Hip Hop (Big L, UGK, YG...) but I also love the classics of Soul and something I would call californian Pop (Devandra Banhart, Bahamas...). I am currently reading John Irving, but I also like Michel Houellebecq and Wolfgang Herrndorff and so many more. Favorite movies: Hard to say, but last seen and liked: Palo Alto, Taxi Teheran, Buffalo '66...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've riden a horse in the Golan hills in a hippie camp in Israel.

Teach, Learn, Share

As an art historian I definitely can share my knowledge about fine arts and a little bit architecture (I also work as an art tour guide in Berlin). I would love to learn to cook so much more meals and would love to share the ones I already know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge about Germany and all the countries I have visited, also I would love to share a German home cooked meal (vegetarian).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
