About Me

When I meet new people I tend to be introverted until I know them better. I still try to change that, but I guess that this is just who I am. Maybe my experience with Couchsurfing can help me to change this a little bit ;)
Otherwise I would describe me as an honest, open-minded and active person. My favorite sport is swimming. Besides that I like hiking, jogging, taking longer trips on my bicycle and all kind of sports including a ball (basketball, soccer, volleyball etc.). When I am not doing sports, I like meeting up with people to play card or board games or to cook together. But I also enjoy watching a good movie or reading a nice book.
Most of all I love to travel and to change my perspective of the world by getting to know new cultures and new ways of living.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the concept of getting to know a new place by meeting up with locals!
Besides that I think that it is very important to exchange opinions with people from other countries/cultures. It is good to get to know and to understand how they see the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite movie: Into the Wild
Favorite book: The Unlikely Pilgramage of Harold Fry

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In August and September 2016 I took the way of St. James from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France to Santiago de Compostella, Spain. Although I am not religious I always wanted to make a pilgrimage. I started on my own. But it took not long until I met a lot of interesting and friendly people, who soon became good friends to me on the way. Walking on the "Camino", how this way is called in Spain and from the pilgrims, was one of the best experiences I ever had. It felt good to travel such a great distant by foot with everything I needed on my back.
I met people and new friends from all over the world and felt confirmed by believing in the good of humanity!

I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in 2024 which goes through the United States from Mexico to Canada. In 5 months I hiked 2655 miles in total. I started hiking April 20th and finished September 24th. Again I met so many nice, friendly and giving people. Most of the time I felt so happy and privileged to be able to hike through great nature for such a long time. I really enjoyed it!
