About Me

I am a singer-songwriter, and I like to travel and give house concerts... Maybe I'll do one at your place ?! :-)

I love to explore life in all kinds of ways :
I am a creative person, always up for a good laugh ; I love singing (I am a singer-songwriter, this is mainly what I do for a living), dancing (free dance and movement exploration), meeting people, having long, deep talks :-) but I also like to talk about "light" subjects.
La profondeur et la légèreté... For me, it is the balance between the two that is interesting to have. I love to go from one to the other : make someone laugh hard, then start a deeper subject in the conversation. That's precious to me to have and nourish both these aspects :-)

I love contact with people, but I also love being on my own at times. This helps me listen to my inner voice. I enjoy travelling alone for this reason.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is a good way to meet local people and get to know a place through some locals' perspective.

It's also a great way to connect on a deep level with people who, you would think, are strangers... I love this little sentence I read somewhere : "There are no stranger, only friends you haven't met yet"

Interests

Knowing who I am, meeting and getting to know other human beings' vision of life, experimenting, meditation, walking, singing with heart and soul

I'm curious about many things :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: very eclectic at the moment. I like many genres and am open to discovering new ones :-)

I have been singing ever since I was a child. I started writing texts and songs when I was a teenage. A couple of years ago, I made a CD with 4 compositions. I am now in a process of creating new songs and music :-) Would be happy to meet loads of musicians and create things together or just play music/jam together

Books : Women who run with the wolves, The Power of Now, The God of Small Things, Soucouyant

Movies: I like watching movies with depth, that bring you through an emotional journey. But I also like to have a good laugh and feel light, inspired and hopeful, after watching something :-)
So I would say I love movies that combine both aspects : depth and laughter :-)
The latest movie I saw and reaaaaally adored was "Three Billboards", with Frances McDormand who I find amazing as an actress

A few movies I particularly enjoyed: Revolutionary Road, Abre Los Ojos, Broken, Inglourious Basterds, La Piel que Habito, Happy-Go-Lucky, Yes Man.

Books: "Journal Intime d'un Bébé Formidable", Didier Tronchet; Amazing book, told from the perspective of a baby discovering the world, marvelling at every single detail that life offers him - something which many of us seem to have lost. I believe that many of us run and forget about what is essential in life: Love. Happiness.

Other books: "Way of the Peaceful Warrior", and I loved the Harry Potter books (especially 3 & 4, but haven't read them for a long time :) )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deciding to leave my former appartment where I wasn't happy. I had no idea where I would go next, but it turned out to be a very good decision :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, French and Dutch, and how to play guitar and sing.

I would love to share with other people about our respective visions of life :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

* I could give a house concert at your place :-)

* Lots of great conversations

* I can also cook some very good, healthy food, perhaps even make you some home-made fresh fruit and vegetable juices...
