About Me

Hello there! I'll try to keep this description short and sweet, and filled with only the most relevant and interesting details :) Right now I'm living in Leipzig, Germany and doing my master's degree.

I'm a self-professed tree-hugger, science-lover, bookworm, nerd, vegan, and avid environmentalist. I am very interested in discussing politics, climate change, environmentalism, religion etc., and I read a lot of books about these topics, so I am always interested in learning more. I'm an "open book" and it's very easy for me to talk about anything with anyone, as long as they are open-minded :) I am both an introvert and extrovert, which means I enjoy conversations, debating, partying, dancing, exploring new places with new people, but I am also very content with reading books, traveling, hiking, meditating, walking around cities, and studying on my own. I like to think that this makes me very adaptable to most situations :)

When I'm stationary, planting trees and growing gardens is a passion of mine. I am trying to improve my gardening skills so that one day I can be completely food-independent. I am also really passionate about upcycling (turning old things into new things), and have made many of my own wallets, purses, etc. out of recycled materials.

I think knowledge is the one true superpower that we can all share and appreciate :)

I love techno music and dancing at techno clubs... hence, Berlin is my nightlife haven.

I am passionate about traveling and seeing both the ugly and beautiful sides of both cities and nature. I love mountains, lakes, scenery that take your breath away (of course, who doesn't?), and discovering other cultures, food, music, languages, history, traditions, etc. I love to discover the beauty in things that are considered "ugly" or unusual. I am fascinated by communist/brutalist architecture.

I'm an easy going, frequent traveler, and I love making new friends. So, I look forward to meeting you, and sharing some experiences, laughs and good times. Talk soon!

I'm also a user of airbnb and helpexchange, here are the links to my profiles:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm all about social experiences, sharing, and doing things that aren't just for profit. Whenever I stay at a hotel, I feel like I'm just handing over a wad of cash to be locked in a boring room and shut off from the reality of the place I'm staying. Although the budgetary constraints are one reason for couchsurfing, it's one of the best ways for embracing a true local experience with the generosity of the local people. And of course, couchsurfers are open-minded, wise, and trusting individuals that have amazing life experiences! Who wouldn't want to give it a try?

Interests

Hiking and discovering nature (especially being near the water or in the mountains), trying local cuisine, discovering live music and other types of performance art, learning about local traditions and events, learning German, and promoting environmental activism.

Ask me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent an amazing three weeks in China, where I got to walk along the beautiful Great Wall.

I did a Via Ferrata (an advanced hike that involves a protected climbing route that goes over exposed and dangerous cliffs). I had to cross an 80-meter suspension bridge called "The Nepalese Bridge" in Mürren, Switzerland that crossed a 1000 metre cliff! Google it! One of the scariest things that I've done!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of science ;)
I love learning anything and EVERYTHING... I spend lots of spare time reading non-fiction books and taking online courses.
