About Me

I'm a Student at Portland State University. I was born in China but I've lived in Portland my entire life. I'm studying art because I'm interested in exploring ideas of expression and creativity. I don't have a medium or a focus because I find that to be limiting and I'm currently in a period of exploration and discovery.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hit a point in my life where I'm like "I need to get out of my house and explore the world." I'm interested in meeting new people and sharing experiences. I can be a little shy and I want to break out of my shell and be a more confident person.

Interests

I like to snowboard in the wintertime. It's all about that Mountain Hood here in the Northwest. Other Northwest hobbies include backpacking, fishing, and taking it easy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently, I'm obsessed with Alabama Shakes. I just love their upbeat, feel good sound and I can't seem to turn it off. Norah Jones, Alt-J, The Decembrists, and M. Ward are also in my "Just sitting around the house reading a book" playlist. The playlist is actually just called "chill" but it's what I listen to when I'm just sitting around the house reading a book. Obviously.

As for books, I recently just went to Goodwill and happened upon the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy in hardcover for only $15. So I've been locked on the couch working my way through them. My favorite books include the Kite Runner, Catcher in the Rye, and anything written by Dan Brown.

I like action and adventure movies. If there are explosions and an intense chase seen I'm all about it. I also like thriller/suspense movies as well as cerebral. If it's a cerebral thriller, even better! My top movies this year are Gone Girl, Her, and Ex-Machina.
