Overview
About Me
I'm a primary school teacher and mother of a teenage girl. I had studied biology. I like to get to know people and having good conversations. I like to go with the flow and I take every occasion for a good laugh 😃
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to get to know people from all around the world and ease my desire for traveling ("Fernweh") when I can't go away.
Interests
I'm a passionate trailrunner, I do Yoga and I love traveling and nature, most of my destinations include mountains and stunning landscapes. But I also enjoy the vibe of big cities with lots of open minded and socialising people.
I'm interested in sustainable development and an ecologic lifestyle. I like learning new languages and to get to know about other cultures and countries.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a lot of music. I'm a music enthusiast as well. Especially music from "The Doors", desertblues from north africa like Tinarewen, Bombino, Imarhan, Reggae, 60ties and 70ties Rock, Folkmusic, Leonhard Cohen, Dub Reggae, Goa and psychedelic trance, Bossa Nova, Mojo Club, musica kriola de Cabo Verde, Radiohead, ... and many more...
I love to taste exotic dishes and to try to re-cook them at home. Maybe we can exchange some cooking inspirations.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
4 weeks of Interrailing Europe and mostly couchsurfing with meeting great people during that trip; Hiking the active Volcano Mount Batur in Bali in the night; Running in the atlas mountains; camping in the Sahara desert, living with a Berber family in the Atlas mountains for some weeks, backpacking in India, 10 days Vipassana course in Jaipur...
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn about waste reducing solutions in other countries or to exchange ideas about those.
Also I find it inspiring and teaching to visit schools everywhere in the world.
Right now I'm learning spanish and it would be nice to get in contact to native speakers.
If you are interested in running, I could show you wonderful routes in the forest or along the Ruhr river. Or even going for sight running to the famous Zeche Zollverein in Essen.
Close to my place in Essen Steele there is my all time favourite rock bar, the "Freak Show". Some guests had already considered it as to be maybe the best bar in world ;-) I will be happy to take you there at the weekend if you are looking for some crazy people and really good music.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I come to your place I can offer you to improve your German skills (as I'm a German teacher), I can accompany you for running and having good conversations, if you like. But I'm also a quite easy guest with no big expectations. I can be happy with nearly everything.
