About Me

I've left New York City and all it's wonders, joys, excitements, and craziness behind and am seeing the world. Why? Because I can. I love to explore, push myself, experience new sights/places/people/cultures/cuisines. I'm learning so much about the world and myself.

I've gotten to experience some brilliant opportunities - living in New Zealand, working with elephants in Asia with Save Elephant Foundation, dipping my nose into the wine industry, the list goes on...

I love cooking and eating (and drinking), writing, pushing myself to try new things even when it makes me uncomfortable, traveling solo (but on occasion pairing up with someone to share the fun), and most of all creating phenomenal memories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To step outside my comfort zone and meet new people in an authentic way - I'm particularly intrigued by seeing new places from the local point of view.

Interests

Cooking, writing, dancing, singing, animals and nature, trees and sunsets, mountains and little rivers, smooth rocks and rainbows, drinking and laughing, finding new adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Shostakovich is my favorite classical composer, and I listen heavily to movie soundtracks and broadway shows, with a little metal thrown in. My favorite book is The Hobbit (not a huge fan of the movies), however, I adore the LotR movies. Historical fiction/fantasy is one of my favorite genres to read, as well. Fun, cheesy action adventure films give me more enjoyment than they probably should...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent an entire day in a hammock on a black sand beach in Guatemala and in the evening hunkered down in the thatched bar as a tropical storm raged through. The next night we watched shooting stars while laying on the beach at 2 in the morning. That was pretty amazing.

Swam at midnight in bioluminescent waters in Vietnam

Helped operate on a wild boar in the middle of the Cambodian jungle

Met elephants!!!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm on a quest of self discovery. Or change. Things I take for granted maybe you'd like to hear about or learn and vice versa.
