Hello! I was born and raised in Chicago, but I have lived the past 5 years in San Francisco, where I graduated from college in 2015. Now I am living as an au pair in Belluno with a lovely family until May 2017. When I return to the U.S., I will finish my training to become an elementary school teacher.

Though I am living with a wonderful host family, only the parents speak English! My Italian classes are starting soon, but right now I am desperate for any kind of social connections/friendships I could make in my own language! I would also love to practice Italian (I'm also hoping eventually to learn Spanish...), but right now it has been difficult to have a social life because I am not fluent enough in Italian to easily make friends in Italian. I'm hoping to find some English-speaking friends on Couchsurfing, at least until I'm fluent enough in Italian to have Italian-speaking-only friends too :) I'm a very social person and I love learning about other peoples' lives, which is why it's been tough not being able to socialize with the locals!
