Overview
About Me
Hey, I am Julia a very curious 18 years old girl from middle Europe from Hungary. (And yes Hungary is in Middle Europe). I consider myself very mature and totally independent, but maybe these things are just on my wish list yet. Although I hope I am on the right way there.
Last year I got a scholarship to a United World College (it is an international organization with the aim to unite people from all around the world through education), so last August I got on a plane by myself and traveled to Phuket with big dreams and teardrops on the corner of my eyes. Now I live in a boarding school with classmates from 36 different nationalities. I feel so lucky and grateful that I get to explore different cultures every day, just by having conversations over the canteen's unforgettable food.
While I think about these experience I realize how I became open-minded and tolerant and also how I learned a lot about myself too.
Besides these things, I am friendly, very talkative, a hardcore Harry Potter fan. At the same time, I am a curious world citizen and a passionate Hungarian.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am curious about the world but most importantly about the people who are out there. I believe that Couchsurfing is a great way to meet these people, to create connections, and through this to understand something deeper. I think, travelling means opening your mind and heart for something new and meeting new people, learning from them, and seeing a place through their lenses, and this is what I would love to do.

Music, Movies, and Books
Beatles, Queen, Eric Clapton (and everything that is Blues), Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Ed Sheeran, Hungarian folk music, Quimby. Basically, it depends on my mood, I can listen to Nirvana for days and then listen to the newest pop songs.
As for movies, my favourites are the Boat that Rocked, Dead Poet Society, Casablanca.
About books, I am fond of Harry Potter, One flew over the Cuckoos nest and the Shogun.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have tried real Thai food and I am still alive. If you need an explanation for this you have never tried real Thai food. I can still feel the burn on my lips, tongue, throat, basically everywhere in my mouth.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Hungarian folk songs, and dances, as well as I, can share my tips and tricks on how to make the best pancakes ever. I can also share stories from living in a multicultural boarding school.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my stories and my enthusiasm with my hosts. I love to talk and I value good conversations very much. I can also offer Hungarian short courses (one of the most difficult languages, so brace yourself) and some treats from home.
