About Me

I have lived a life on the road for my work, in film and TV for 18 years, bouncing from city to city with the film 'circus' - a different city for each 3 to 9 month job. I have gotten to live all over the east coast and stay in some really unusual places!

My home base has been Charlotte, NC since 2005 which is where I host from when I'm home.

I have semi retired from the film world now to pursue writing but I miss the travel and meeting new people so I travel for my own pleasure now!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel for pleasure now, and further abroad, and I love getting the local experience.

I also know how difficult it can be constantly dropping into a new place so want to help other travels while I am home!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the Nero Wolfe series, nonfiction history like Simon Winchester, David McCullough and fiction like John Connolly as well as classic like Jane Austin.

I like all genres of film. Some stand outs would be 'Rushmore,' 'Brazil,' 'Once upon a time in the West,' 'The talented Mr Ripley,' 'Lost in Translation,' 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,' 'The Last Wave'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once wrangled a few lost cattle on horseback in Monument Valley, so I think I am technically as much of a cowboy as John Wayne.

I have stayed in a silent order monetary, and sometimes wish I could impose a similar ban in real life!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of random, not very useful knowledge - I can sew and make fake blood and repair a broken zipper and other various skills that have no place outside of costuming!

I love to learn new skills and the history of where I am staying.

I enjoy photography as well, though I am not a professional travel photographer by any means.
