Hey there! I’m a 21 year old Zoologist/Marine Biologist from New Zealand on a gap year before pursuing further study (and hopefully doing an internship in Canada during 2020!!). I have a huge passion for animals and the environment and am always happy to talk about all things nature. I grew up in a house with a total of 86 exchange students during my childhood/teenage years (usually about 5 living with us at all times) so I’m very keen on meeting new people and experiencing different cultures (you can imagine the amazing foods I got to try during our weekly Sunday night potluck dinners based on each of our countries!!!). I think this unique growing up experience is where my passion for travelling arose from and I plan to travel to all corners of the earth to meet up with all my exchange brothers and sisters again over my lifetime 😄

The idea of getting to know people and be able to bond with them makes couch surfing seem like an ideal experience, especially if I am able to share my home with them if they ever want to visit New Zealand. I feel like human connections are so valuable and it would be awesome being able to meet and talk with people from all kinds of places. I feel as though couch surfing is a more personal approach compared with airbnbs.

兴趣

As mentioned, anything animal and environment related is something I am extremely interested in. I also really like art, especially painting. Travelling is something that has always held my attention and it would be awesome to talk to people with a similar feeling. I’m currently travelling around Canada and America with my best friend who was just on exchange at McGill and it’s been unreal so far ❤️

My music taste varies largely, but I tend to stick to indie music. My favourite bands and singers include: LANY, Angus and Julia Stone, the 1975, Troye Sivan, Bon Iver, Rex Orange County, Hozier and Ben Howard. My favourite writer is Jodi Picoult.

Probably making it through my degree in one piece (but in all seriousness, achieving my life long dream of being a zoologist/marine biologist graduate was the most incredible feeling) 🐟🦁

I love cooking and baking a variety of foods, I’m vegan but I’m happy to cook whatever you’re interested in! 🍔 I’m happy to talk about a variety of things such as world views, interests, ideas, the future etc as I’m always interested in other peoples lives and the way they view the world themselves. I’m sure I could also convince you on why you should visit my country (New Zealand) because trust me it’s beautiful.
