About Me

I'm a writer and artist by trade, office managing my way through life these days. I speak about five languages, currently learning a sixth. I love movies, theatre and musicals, I usually spend my weekends lost in museums and art galleries. I love comic books and anything related to them (so yes to ComicCon's hehe!), I'm basically a child at heart. Often described as kind and gentle, I like to stick to that despite adversities. Open-minded traveller of sorts. Frankly there are many interesting sides to me, I don't remember not making friends easily in my life, I'm just that easygoing and awesome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm currently trying to re-establish my balance here in London. I'm looking for a couch to sleep on for a week or two until I find more permanent accommodation. I do work during the day and spend my free time reading, writing, watching a movie or (weather permitting) just insanely long walks through the heart of the city or by the river banks.

I've been in London for a few years now, getting a glimpse of both its greatness and its less pleasant shades, and I love it nonetheless. Even at its worst, it feels like home. I'm looking for a place where I can basically sleep in peace on a short term basis, I'm pretty much out of options till later.

I cook, I clean, I'm tidy and extremely considerate of those around me, and my friends can easily vouch for me as well. As an artist, and a Writer, I will also happily write a short story and/or create a lovely original illustration for my potential hosts. I always give back and I make a mean Carbonara. :)

Interests

I'm mostly about writing, painting and reading, but I am also a seasoned traveller, a lover of good food and great shows. I enjoy exploring new places and experiencing new cultures, and I most definitely enjoy meeting new people and making some new friends along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books

My music preferences tend to vary from time to time, depending on my moods. I often listen to jazz, lounge and opera while reading/writing/painting. But sometimes I'll go for some good ol' fashioned '80s and '90s too. I love quality house music, from Frankie Knuckles to Dennis Ferrer and Martinez Brothers. Then I also am a huge fan of P!nk and Ellie Goulding, Foo Fighters and 30 Seconds to Mars. Like I said, varied taste.

Movies... That's another big list. Sci-fi is definitely my favourite genre, as well as gripping dramas and intelligent comedy. V For Vendetta, Snatch, Thank You For Smoking, Dirty Dancing are among my all time favourites. And so many more! TV wise, it's mainly Supernatural, American Horror Story, Modern Family, The Mentalist, Key and Peele, Bones, American Dad, Family Guy, Castle and many many more.

Books... That's an even bigger list. All that came out of the brilliant minds of Neil Gaiman, Ray Bradbury, Jack Vance, Arthur C. Clarke and Anne Rice are definitely on my bookshelf.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Of the few truly amazing things I have done, I can mention one in particular: I organised a series of charity fundraising events in order to help Mirela, the victim of a motorcycle accident back home.

She was a passenger on her husband's motorcycle when they were hit by a van doing an illegal u-turn. The incident left her paralysed from the chest down, and her only chance at recovery was a stem cell transplant procedure in China which cost about $50,000 at the time. So I mobilised the entire biker community and beyond, organised a series of events which ultimately raised that money and helped her get closer to her dream of walking again. Whkle the preocedure didn't miraculously make her walk, the progress she made was encouraging and an actual step further. And that, to me, is one of those amazing things I've done in my life...

Teach, Learn, Share

I have plenty of positive and negative experiences under my belt, and I am happy to share some of the wisdom acquired, if ever needed.

I can teach a couple of languages (English, Italian , Romanian), complete with customs and useful bits if one is interested in travelling. And like I previously stated, I will happily write and paint something beautiful and original for the good people who decide to take me in for a little while.

I think there is still plenty of kindness in this world, and I adhere to this concept.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Somehow I seem to be answering multiple questions in one paragraph...

At the risk of repeating myself, I'm quite the care'n'share bear. Anything from house chores to life experiences, I can share. Unless I got the question wrong, in which case I humbly ask to be corrected if necessary. :)
