My name is Julia, I am born in France but grew up in London. Right now I am living in Rio de Janeiro!

I'll start with the usual, I enjoy meeting new people, learning about them, how they choose to live their lives.
I love to cook, watch movies, listen to music, travel ect...

I'm a design graduate in design, I have a keen interest in carpentry, I love the loud buzzing sound of my workshop, working with big machinery. Still trying to figure out where I fit as a designer -or person- in this bg
Parallel to this I'm interested our society's behaviour toward water, how can we save water, how can we distribute water more equally...

Couchsurfing is the perfect way to meet new people. Meet locals living in the city and really be immersed in the country's culture. I believe that's really the best way to have a fulfilled experience as a traveller.
It's a great way to break out of our shell and push ourself to leave our comfort zone..

Making has become more of a passion than a hobby. I work mostly with wood, and love learning about different types of wood and their properties, how they change through time, how they work with other materials ect..

I want to work to bring communities closer together.
Constantly trying to learn something new, therefore open to meeting new poeple form cultures around the world..

I want to add my love for dogs, or animals in general...

Hard to narrow it down. I listen to a variety, open to knowing new genres (books, music and films).
A lot or jazz and blues on my Ipod, with a mix of classics. Then a little more modern (Gorillaz -Demon Days was my first ever album-, Chinese Man, Bonobo, Gramatik, Panda Dub, Nightmares on Wax, RJD2, Wax Taylor, Buena Vista Social Club) + ODB, Tribe Called Quest + Nas + Marley - too many
I enjoy reading alot, mostly in french. Rhinoceros from Eugene Ionesco is a play that has stayed with me for a long time...
Movies would be action/sci-fi. The Bourne Trilogy set the bar. Lords of the Rings did too. As well as the Matrix(s).
