About Me

I like going on adventures. Currently I'm living a busy life in NYC. In the past year I left school in NYC, lived next to Acadia National Park in Maine, traveled around Europe, lived in a tree house while working on a farm, and took a solo road trip in a car that's 25 years old.
I'm a photographer, an avid reader, a concert going addict, I love cooking and sometimes I play the ukulele.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hoping to find cool people to stay with who can give me a 'not for tourists' outlook on where I'm visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm really into discovering new music. I like DIY recordings and demos. I will listen to practically anything with consideration but prefer folky and more alternative music. Currently on my playlists: Frankie Cosmos, Blake Mills, Devendra Banhart, Iron & Wine, Dr.Dog, Lady Lamb, and AA Bondy.

I love dissecting films but my favorites are chosen either for their stories or their cinematography. Fight Club (the movie), Submarine, Mirrormask, American Beauty, Little Miss Sunshine, In the Mood for Love, and everything by Wes Anderson top my list.

I'm not kidding when I say I would read any book I was handed. If I start a book I have to finish it. These are the books you would find by my bedside table: Fight Club (the book), The Bell Jar, Lolita, The Third Plate, You Don't Have to Like Me, a few of Kurt Vonnegut's, several of Michael Pollan's, and a couple of Joan Didion's.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked a mountain in Ireland's Connemara National Park for one of the most stunning views I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to use a camera, bake scones, or how to change a flat tire.

I would love to learn how to play the guitar better, how to knit or embroider.

I can share stories and if you let me in the kitchen I can cook something.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Dumb stories and bad jokes, good music, and photos of cats. I'm super awkward but also up for any conversation - I have an open mind but strong opinions.
