About Me

Hello! I’m Julia, and I’m currently on a gap year. I finished high school last year and have deferred my uni course until next year. I plan to study International Business and Arts (international relations).

I love riding and I plan on doing many bike trips around the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m currently travelling alone and I think couchsurfing would be an amazing way for me to connect with people and meet some locals! I do like to talk to people and socialise, however I’m terrible at approaching people and getting over the initial hump. I also feel a little lonely at times so some company would be nice. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is all over the place, but some of my favourite songs at the moment are Foreplay by Jalen Santoy, BYM by SILA and Drift by Alina Baraz. I love swapping song recommendations, so hit me up with your favourite song!

Two of my all time favourite movies are Shawshank Redemption and Spirited Away, absolute classics. Isle of Dogs is up there too.

My favourite book is A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. It’s an incredible story about the lives of two women, a generation apart, set against the brutal backdrop of Taliban reign. Hosseini is an incredible writer, his works are incredibly engrossing, and I would highly recommend his books!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Embarked on my current journey - a three month solo trip abroad! I’ve never really been alone. I’ve always been surrounded by my friends and/or family, so this is quite the change. While it wasn’t necessarily unexpected or uncharacteristic for me to do this, it’s still one of the most amazing things I’ve done!
