Overview
About Me
Almost 30 years old, but younger in my head. Think of myself as a European citizen. I am a scientist work-wise, but my heart belongs to music. I play seven instruments (yes 7... no worries, I usually don't play if I am not asked to and I mostly have to travel without them because some of them are pretty big) and I sing, write my own songs etc.
I am also passionate about dancing (currently actively doing a lot of folk-dancing and lindy hop, used to do ballet, standard and latin...) and massively in love with Scotland. I hope for everything to be sorted out with the Brexit so I can finally move back to Edinburgh.
Other hobbies of mine include photography, theatre, the outdoors... I have started rock climbing this year and I can't go horse riding as often as I would like to...
And yes, I have more hobbies than any sane person should have.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hoping to meet new people, make new friends, have someone from the place I travel to who might be able to give me tips about what are off-the-beaten-track things to do.
I sadly can't host anyone in my flat, because it's tiny and I think even if you feel sociable, you should have your own little space to crawl into, if you need it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll just stick to music here, because that's probably already diverse enough:
Mainstream Rock from New Jersey (The Boss and BJ, if you need me to specify)...
Alternative/Grunge: Nick Cave, Pearl Jam...
Musicals (yes! tacky, but i love them!)
Classic-Rock-Crossovers (that stuff David Garrett, The Piano Guys, 2Cellos and Lindsey Stirling do)
Opera (except for Wagner... I will run away if you start playing Wagner at me)
Symphonic Power Metal and variations thereof (Nightwish, Sonata Arctica...)
Folk Music (well... obviously)
Folk Rock and Middle-Ages Rock music (Alestorm, Fiddlers Green, a few German bands)
Pop-Rock (Train, Poets of the Fall)
And there's more...
Interesting fact on the sides: I almost have no female singers that I like... weird
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Keeping it down to one is almost impossible.
* I walked around the Hobbiton Set at Matamata in a full fledged Hobbit costume - it was amazing
* I celebrated Midsummer in Sweden
* I danced at St Andrew's castle ceilidh when they still danced IN the castle and had the torch procession down to the shore
* I sailed up the french coast on a historic cargo sailing vessel which carried 6 tons of wine
* I walked through Cougar Creek Canyon in the Canmore area in Alberta on my birthday, didn't see a soul for the whole day and it was beautiful
* The reason why I went to Canada for the first time was because we had planned a reunion with people from the New Zealand travel group
* I met my best friend at a BJ fan-meetup
