About Me

CURRENT MISSION

travel more, hug often, work less, smile always :]

ABOUT ME

I'm open-minded & curious about everything. I'm young at heart & like to be as carefree as a child. I always seek out the good in everyone. I find something in each person to fall in love with. Making others happy makes me happy. If I fail at something, I keep trying until I get it right. Giving up is never an option for me. I'm an honest person, a little too honest for some at times. I make mistakes & live within the moment, but I learn from my past to improve my future self.

I've dedicated the next 5 years of my life to exploring the world & myself before fully pursing my Master's degree. I prefer to enjoy life & embrace struggle rather than worry & sweat the small stuff. I'm a simple person that only needs "the simple bare necessities." :]

PHILOSOPHY

Life is so beautiful.
Don't take a second for granted.
Hold onto the people that truly matter.
Live with no regrets.
Get out of your comfort zone.
Embrace change & personal growth.
Love life. <3

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've attended numerous CS events, tons of hang outs with travelers, hosted, & surfed!

I'm always looking to meet new friends from all over the world & I love showing people around this beautiful state that I love so dearly. Just let me know if you want to meet for tea, a stroll, or even a simple chat. :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, most of the surfers I've met have been some of the most amazing, adventurous, interesting, open-minded, selfless, caring, fun, & loving people! :]

Interests

I love to listen to others talk about their lives, frustrations, hopes, dreams, travels, love affairs, & any other rambling that is sparked within that very moment.

So to list off some general interests... people (all the people!!), music (nothing better than seeing your favorite artists live!), movies, different cultures, nature, yoga, religion/spirituality, lounging, food (lots of it!), tea, psychology, children, jokes, laughing, smiling, traveling, outdoor activities, hugs (be prepared for lots of hugs!), living in the moment, love, love, love!

Music, Movies, and Books

All Mitch Albom books. Honorable mentions...
Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven.

The Life of Pi. (Novel is outstanding, movie is well done & does it justice for the most part)

I LOVE MUSIC! My whole life is pretty much the greatest soundtrack of all time (of course to me, since it's all my favorite songs haha). If I'm not spending all my money on plane tickets, it's definitely going to concert tickets to see all my favorite artists live!!! It has to be one of the most amazing experiences ever!! It's such a rush! Somewhat recent shows I've been to were... The 1975, BANKS, The Neighbourhood, The Weeknd, Lorde, Until The Ribbon Breaks, Brand New, Artic Monkeys, The Head and The Heart, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Alt-J, The Ataris, CHVRCHES, Made in Heights, Blue Scholars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Calvin Harris... The list goes on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

These are a few of my favorite things:

Taking a canoe to Monkey Beach in Thailand and playing with monkeys! Eating amazing Thai food every day for every meal and never getting sick of it. Then feeding elephants loads of bananas. :]

Backpacking through Japan. Going up Koyasan and living with monks in 3 different temples. Meditating and chanting every morning. Walking through the neighborhood my grandma grew up in Sasebo and standing in front of her old house. Seeing the navy port my grandpa and grandma met at.

Indonesia! Yoga in Ubud at Yoga Barn. Failing to ride a scooter in busy Bali (haha!). Relaxing and making local friends on the beautiful Gili islands. Snorkeling and swimming along sea turtles. Exploring small villages on Lombok and making friends with monkeys.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been told I'm a very lively, happy person, so I'd hopefully be offering you a positive & happy atmosphere! I love to laugh (honestly, who doesn't?...even the grinch loves a good laugh!). I love to cook & bake! If you feel comfortable letting me into your kitchen, I'd love to attempt to make you a delicious vegan meal or dessert!

As much as an extrovert I can be, I'm very much an introvert too. If you rather be left alone, I have no problem giving you space & having my stay be more zen! :]
