About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be a more engaged, alive, loving, and understanding person than yesterday, every day. And to juggle clubs.

ABOUT ME

I am a quiet and laid-back person, and I love meeting new people and engaging with new places. I love singing and dancing with others, gardening, birding, collaborative art projects, reading aloud, and outdoor adventures. I love visiting the lives of other people - no matter how similar or different they are to me, there are always amazing things to be learned and experienced.

Music, Movies, and Books

Zami: A New Spelling of My Name - Audre Lorde
Sonia Sanchez (everything)
The Color Purple - Alice Walker
The Sandman Chronicles - Neil Gaiman
What It Is - Lynda Barry
Walk Two Moons - Sharon Creech
Many Moons - James Thurber

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tsitsikamma National Park, spending a few nights with a rural South African woman who had adopted eighteen orphans, kindnesses that I witness between people almost every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people to bake delicious bread, pies, etc. But I think that the best teaching and learning comes from day-to-day human interaction, conversation, and hearing about what people are passionate about and what makes them come alive.
