About Me
Hello, friends!
My name is Julia, 25, I'm from Russia (Siberia). I live in the city of Krasnoyarsk (in the middle of Taiga forest and active wildlife) with my cat May.
In 2015 I graduated from Humber College, Faculty of Event Planning, Toronto (Canada), where I spent a few wonderful years of my youth. Now, I'm running a business- language studio "Red Fox" where I teach English. In my free time, I work as a freelance translator.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm truly fond of travelling and eager to explore the world. I love meeting new people and learning about new cultures and traditions. In my opinion, the best way to get to know the country is to meet local people, try traditional food, visit unusual beautiful places only locals know about. It's a completely new experience for me, a little breathtaking actually, but I'm so looking forward to making new friends through this wondeful website.
Interests
Besides the fact that I really like traveling and learning about new cultures and languages, I also like reading, doing Postcrossing (has been a member since 2012), riding a bike and rollerblading, helping my family in the garden in our countryside house, helping my grandparents. In my free time I usually watch movies and TV shows in English (my all time favourites are "Friends", "Sex and The City", "Game of Thrones", "Supernatural"), meeting with my friends somethere in the city for some Italian food and wine, seeing my lovely goddaughters (Veronica in 6 y.o and Anna is 3 y.o), doing housework and finding all kinds of new information. Futhermore, I'm very interested in design. At the moment, I am trying to come up with a nice design for my bedroom and kitchen.
Currently, I am getting a second higher pedagogical education.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: different. It depends on the mood. But I do love Queen, Tokio Hotel, Ed Sheeran, Enya, Modern Talking, Oasis, Liittle Mix, The Weeknd.
Films:The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter,
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Life is very long. I can say that I did a lot of interesting things in 25 years. One of the most amazing things was visiting Niagara Falls and studying at a Canadian college at the age of 18, without family or friends around. I am an active volunteer, in 2019 I was a volunteer attache of the Universiade 2019. On a weekly basis, I help homeless animals by transferring part of my income to various funds and also saving homeless animals and finding new families for them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I will be glad to cook some dish of Russian cuisine, share the features of living in Siberia, tell about my life in Canada, just sit down and chat with you about life over a cup of tea. If you have a cat, I will be glad to cuddle it since I'm a big cat (and pet) admirer. If you have a dog, I’ll help you to take it for a walk. I will also be happy to help with a little cleaning - wash the dishes, make the bed, vacuum, unload the dishwasher. And, of course, I will bring you a Russian souvenir in gratitude for your hospitality:)
