CURRENT MISSION
to make change from within
ABOUT ME
Born and raised in Austin, TX, USA. From Austin, I made my way to Ohio for undergrad (Oberlin College), studied abroad in Costa Rica and lived there again after graduating (I love Costa Rica!!), then moved to San Francisco for 5 years, working in urban planning and civic engagement, then popped up to Seattle for grad school in public affairs - to accomplish my mission of "change from within" (learn all about the local government sector so I can theoretically get a job in it, helping make local public decision-making more inclusive and more collaborative...though dreams of this have been dashed by the economy for the time being)..... And to the present moment: I am currently taking a quarter off from grad school to be in Chile - as I am half Chilean but have never lived here, I've been having a great time connecting with family on my dad's side and traveling around Chile. I am in Valparaiso for only 2 weeks more, so if you are here/coming here and want to hang out, I am up for paseando or saliendo. I am pretty fluent in Spanish and always striving to improve. Beginning of March I will be in Buenos Aires for a week where I am meeting up with my best friend and her boyfriend who will be there (and she is the one who told me about CouchSurfing). Then in Mexico City for a week and back to Seattle to finish up grad school. I unfortunately live in a house of 6 in Seattle where I wouldn't want to impose on my housemates with hosting... otherwise I would be completely up for hosting guests! (hopefully one day) Anyway, if you are in Valparaiso or Mexico City and want to hang out, or are up for hosting me in Palermo Hollywood (ideally - that is where my friend is staying) - please let me know! Thanks!

while traveling? going out and exploring cities - enjoying the architecture. people watching. checking out festivals or outdoor concerts. finding vegetarian or health food restaurants. going out salsa dancing or to bars (though I have to admit I usually don't last all that long...as in to late into the night.... though hopefully the Buenos Aires nightlife will force it into me :) Oh, and I love city biking, if it's safe enough.
