About Me
I'm Julia, an open minded, happy girl who has been bitten by the travel bug two years ago, while solo travelling South east Asia for an amazing six months. Since then my definition of home is travelling. I am currently studying art in Vienna. Luckily my studies are so free, that I went on another trip for four months to the Middle East, travelling while doing art. And since staying in one place for too long is nothing for me I will be studying in Sao Paulo for one semester :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The thing you remember most about travelling are the people you meet. Mostly people you would have never met in your daily life. It's the beautiful, interesting experience of getting to know another culture while making friends. Laughing about all the differences and similarities, exchanging experiences and making new ones together.
Interests
Sometimes the best thing is, to just sit in a nice coffee shop with a little book, writing, sketching... Other times I love to be with friends partying or just discussing about philosophy. Going to exhibitions or just searching for art in the city. Acting in a theatre play with other wonderful people. Doing yoga, swimming, playing volleyball or just going for a run.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the best experiences I've had was volunteering in Viennas biggest refugee camp. Creating a Cafe inside the camp where people had the opportunity to meet, exchange, learn, dance and get a little bit of normality back. I learned a lot during this year and formed some incredible friendships.
