About Me

--◆ PLEASE READ MY PROFILE BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST It's very important to me, and since you're already reading this, why stopping now ?

Also note that I don t use CS for dating purpose and will report messages or behaviour leading this way . There are a ton of dating apps and CS is not one .

- I dont host man alone
- I dont accept CS request if you havnt read my profile and showed me you did
- I work during the week so only available at night and I am usually out of Zahle during weekends

That being said here I am : )

I am a 31 year-old French woman living mostly abroad but back in France for now . I discovered Couch Surfing when I was a student through my flat mates and we had the pleasure to meet quite awesome people from all over the world, hosting them in our crazy big flat in Lyon .
In July 2016 I went on an amazing trip in Colombia and Peru where I did quite a lot of couchsurfing. I had the funniest weekend in Medellin walking around the city with my host, and in Peru speaking with my host up until late at night after a super fun Couchsurfing night in a local pub where I also met people who hosted me after . I guess what I like the most about Couch surfing appart from the obvious cultural exchange and opportunity to speak another language is the fact that you never know really who you are going to meet.. In my case it always ended up to be a very good surprise ( sometimes you actually get along with people you never thought you would have! ). With Couchsurfing you also end up in quite unexpected situation , eating amazing food and going to places you never thought you would have ( like a church in a cave in Columbia ) . Lately, and especially since I have started spending most of my time abroad I would like as much as possible to travel on a slower pace and with different transport ( my next trip will be with a bycicle and a tent ) and I believe Couchsurfing is also matching with this travel philosophy as you get to have the most authentic experience possible by being around local people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I belong to the people who think that what makes a memorable travel is the people you meet rather than the place you visit (even though the place can have a great influence on the experience) and Couchsurfing is one of the most efficient way to do so! I strongly believe that the purpose of travelling is to understand that we are part of a bigger community , and that our differences make us richer.

Interests

I am a huge fan of music, although I am not an expert, I love singing and used to be part of a band (reggae influence, jazz and blues). I also like reading and writing (essentially travel notebooks) . I really like cooking, especially when I am surrounded by hungry flatmates or friends. I also occasionally like to paint . When I am in France I go climbing indoor and outdoor quite a lot and I like running and hiking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Woohooo this is a tough one! I can't really find which book is my favorite, because it changes every two months! I love Gabriel Garcia Marquez's work, (cien anos de soledad, amores en tiempo de colera, del amor y otro demonio.... and a lot more) and Roberto bolano's (los detectivos salvajez, o 2666!!!), as well as Salman Rushdie. My favorite french writer is Romain Gary ( la vue devant soi still break my heart every time I read it ) Camus and Boris Vian. I could spend the whole day talking about books, I really enjoy Balzac's , Rimbaud's and Prévert's poetry and I discovered Yasmina Khadra's books a couple of years back which I really love.
In terms of music, I really enjoy chilly electro, reagae and a good old school rock but also nice funk music and rap . I pretty much like everything: Damian Marley, La rue kétanou, NTM , Iam. Edith Piaf, Nina Simon, Snow patrol, stupeflip , the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Manu chao , Bakermat, Chinese man,Caribou, Bonobo, Cunninlinguist, Jaques Brel, Metaztaz, Pupajim, Rodrigo y Gabriela , Serges Gainsbourg, Wax Tailor, Orisha, Ray Charles, the Doors , Hugo TSR , Bomba Estereo , Calle trece. Are you still there? I think that list (almost) sums up everything I listen :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swiming with sharks in the Galapagos Island ! Sandbording in Peru! RockClimbing in les callanques bay ( South of France), doing parapente in San Gil Colombia! Rock climbing in crazy hot Juba South Sudan. Hiking in Siemens mountain in Ethiopia and dancing the shoulder dance in the underground pubs of Barh Dar still in Ethiopia !

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach french ! and cooking too, I also love singing and I do it all the time .

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in Zahle in Lebanon and I have an extra room with two beds. I would be super glad to host if I am available but please note if you are a solo traveler ans since I am a woman living alone I might give the priority to woman . I also appreciate that people show me they have red my desciption and dont consider my place as an hotel . If you want to be hosted please send me a couch request with a mention of one of my favourite author that you can find in my description above.
In my home you will find a comfortable bed access to a safe place to store your bag, warm shower and a fridge as well as wifi . I will do everything I can to make you feel at home, but since I have a busy schedule aside my work I might not be always able to spend a lot of time with you. If I have time though I would be delighted to have a nice dinner and give you practible travel tips in and around Zahle.
