About Me

CURRENT MISSION: Living a life full of happy moments

A friend once called me a "collector of memories and stories", I might actually agree with him. Living and appreciating life as it is, supporting what I think is right and having positivity around me may make me sound like a dreamer, however there's more to it ;)
I'd describe myself as an easy-going but thoughtful person. I'm always ready for something new and challenging. I love to experience extraordinary situations and also to meet people who are passionate about what they do!

Coming back home from my voluntary year, I've realized many changes about myself. In a way it got clearer to me what to aim for in life and I'm happy about that! I keep on being active such as giving language courses for kids, supporting the local student groups such as AI or ARENA (student theatre festival) etc. I do have my convictions and I try living up to them :)

PHILOSOPHY
*Life is not about winning, but about playing as well as you can with the cards you have.
*Live life up to your own expectations, not to those others may have.
*Don't take anything for granted, but be thankful for life's beauty.
*Enjoy simplicity and find beauty in it; allow magnificient moments to take you away from all your worries, allow them to make you happy :)
*And of course: remain CURIOUS! Never stop exploring, there's so much to see, to learn, to experience.. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Til now I've enjoyed wonderful people hosting me and friends. I love to hear your stories and happy to share mine!
In April 2013 I've been hosted by a bunch of superkind and lovely people in Sweden- thank you so much, couchsurfing is definitely a fantastic experience!
Also during the EVS 2014 I've surfed quite a number of couches in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland, it's simply the best way of travelling and, on the other hand, to invite the world to your place :)

Interests

Foreign cultures and languages. Can't get enough of learning bits and pieces of different languages!
Decent music and good literature, as the opportunity to be taken to various heights. Visiting a concert from time to time, enjoying alternative films and art...simply enlightens me:)

Another aspect is nature and travelling, since I adore discovering unknown places and the beauty of nature itself! There's nothing as peaceful as wandering around in the forest, near the sea or even local parks breathing fresh air.

Oh, and moreover I'm fond of painting, writing and taking photos, as well. Creation is a wonderful thing, nurturing from both passion and patience :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Cinema is a great thing for me, I simply enjoy watching good films! I mean who wouldn't? The best films I've watched recently are 'Grand Budapest Hotel'; 'Boyhood' and 'Memento'. Also I find old mute films from the 1920s pretty faszinating!!

Music is also important to me and I like a range of genres as every moment is unique and requires his individual soundtrack. You can catch me with honest indie folk, simple piano music, good humoured french songs, alternative bands... The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Awolnation, Noah And the Whale. Tatran, Muse, Kraftklub, Bastille'd be some examples :)

Oh yes, I love reading! Just never take away my books! :D
Some books which gave me a lot are Nocturnes (Kazuo Ishiguro), Hector's journey, the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Nighttrain to Lisbon, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the Picture of Dorian Gray and many more! :)

In general I like being inspired, discovering new variations of art, whether music, film, literature, photography or painting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing a sky full of sparkling stars -when being surrounded by the endless and lonely desert in Egypt. That was simply fascinating!

Sitting with friends around a bonfire, enjoying life as it is.. :)

Waking up, leaving the tent and realizing perfection in simplicity: the beautiful morning sky, a rocky waterfall on the right and the costline of Iceland on the left.

Also I've to mention my voluntary year in Lithuania here!
I really enjoyed everything about it: arriving there, in a new country with different customs, conditions and opinions. It's not only a challenge to learn a new language but also to be observing, critical and honest enough to question one's own behaviour during getting into a new rythym of life.
I feel like Lithuania showed me, who I really am and what people are capable of, if they only find motivation and their convictions too :)

Pitching our tents, getting all comfy and admiring the northern lights in Iceland♡

Teach, Learn, Share

Actually I'm dreaming about learning how to play the piano, would be wonderful if someone could teach me some notes :P
Also I'm so so curious about the world's beautiful languages, always ready to learn some new words!! :)

Of course I'd be happy to tell you about my home country, language, to share delicious vegetarian recipes or some clues on how to solve a rubik's cube XD
and much much more!
